The scene

According to the Quang Tri Customs Department, on September 13, 2024, the Drug Enforcement Team coordinated with the Dakrong District Police to detect a car with the license plate number 38D-006.58 showing suspicious signs and signaled to stop the car for inspection, but the driver immediately drove away.

After chasing to km 255+559 of Ho Chi Minh Road (in Pa Tang village, Dakrong commune, Dakrong district, Quang Tri), the authorities discovered a large quantity of goods left on the side of the road, including 21 burlap bags.

Upon inspection, the authorities discovered that the burlap bags contained a total of 10,500 packages of "SPECIAL BLEND JET" brand cigarettes, 20 cigarettes/package.

The cigarettes are left on the side of the road.

By professional measures, the authorities have investigated, discovered and arrest Mr. Mai Van Ph., born in 1982 (residing in Quarter 9, Ward 5, Dong Ha City, Quang Tri), the driver of the above car.

Initially, Mai Van Ph. confessed that the above goods were smuggled cigarettes transported by him.

The case is being verified and investigated by the Investigation Police Agency of Dakrong District Police.
