Quang Ninh Customs accomplishes many key tasks in 2024 earlier

The Quang Ninh Customs Department has reported remarkable achievements in 2023. Notably, the department facilitated customs clearance for 94,931 declarations from 1,641 enterprises through VNACCS/VCIS system, resulting in an import-export turnover of US$13 billion. This represents an increase of 38% in declarations, 348% in the number of enterprises, and 25% in turnover compared to the same period in 2023.

The department successfully collected VND 12,851 billion in revenue, a 12.35% increase year-on-year and exceeding the assigned target of VND12,500 billion by 102.81%. This achievement also represents 98.86% of the target set by the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee.

In the fight against smuggling, illegal transportation of goods, drug trafficking, and commercial fraud, the department detected and handled 187 cases worth VND 6.74 billion, representing a 14% increase in the number of cases and a 46.6% increase in value compared to 2023. Additionally, 473 administrative violations were penalized with fines totaling VND 9.6 billion, marking a 25.4% increase in the number of cases and a 300% increase in fines compared to the previous year.

Furthermore, in post-clearance audits, the department concluded 75 audits (including 26 cases at enterprise headquarters and 49 cases at customs offices), generating revenue of VND 32.5 billion, exceeding the assigned target by 406% and increasing by 410% compared to the same period in 2023.

In line with the directives of the Government, ministries, and provinces, and based on the 2024 theme "Proud of Tradition, Creative Confidence, Joining Forces - Connecting Success," Quang Ninh Customs Department has effectively implemented various programs, plans, and solutions for key tasks since the beginning of the year.

That is, resolutely implementing solutions to ensure favorable conditions for goods clearance; administrative reform, improving the business environment, enhancing competitiveness, and digital transformation in accordance with the roadmap.

Improving the effectiveness of revenue management, increasing revenue, and preventing revenue loss; maintaining the growth rate of turnover and state budget revenue.

At the same time, actively participating in proposing mechanisms and policies; strengthening state management of customs in relation to the entry and exit of people, the exchange of goods by border residents; customs management, customs inspection and supervision; enhancing the effectiveness of management and use of customs inspection and supervision equipment; implementing comprehensive solutions to combat fraud, counterfeit origin, intellectual property infringement, and illegal transshipment. Focusing on preventing and combating smuggling, trade fraud, and the illegal transportation of goods across the border; strengthening cooperation among forces in assessing, forecasting the situation, patrolling, controlling, and strictly managing the area.

Promoting the role of the Standing Committee of the Quang Ninh Provincial Steering Committee 389 in advising, directing, and coordinating to promptly prevent and handle violations of the law, preventing hot spots from forming and complex incidents from occurring, ensuring the safety of the force.

Arranging, using, and deploying human resources suitable for the specific characteristics of practical work and task requirements; strengthening exemplary responsibilities; internal control of leaders at all levels in performing assigned duties and responsibilities; tightening discipline, administrative order, public ethics, management, and use of public finances and assets, practicing thrift, and combating waste. With a tradition of solidarity, creative confidence, and determination cultivated by generations of officials, and the spirit of emulation to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the unit's establishment (December 15, 1954 - December 15, 2024), the collective of the Quang Ninh Customs Department will continue to promote its tradition, join forces to connect success, and is determined to successfully complete all tasks and targets in 2024.
