Smuggling hotspots not occur in Lao Cai

Lao Cai Customs Department has strengthened control and fight against smuggling and trade fraud, illegal transportation of goods across the border on all routes, including focusing on conditional import and export goods, general merchandise, banned items, medical equipment...; taken measures to control drugs in all stages, routes and area.

The department has coordinated with forces such as Police, Border Guard, Market Surveillance to exchange and provide information and collaborate in supervising and handling violation effectively.

According to Lao Cai Customs Department, there have no hotspot for smuggling and illegal transportation of goods, trade fraud and fake goods in the area. There are only insignificant cases.

As of July 15, the department detected 88 violations, including 14 offences on customs control with the infringing goods value of over VND207 million and fine for administrative violations worth VND 22.5 million.

In addition, the department handed 74 cases of administrative violation in customs area with total fines of about VND281 million.
