Specifically, on July 5, 2023, a working group consisting of representatives of Lao Cai International Border Gate Border Guard Station, Bao Thang District Police (Lao Cai), Customs Enforcement Team (Lao Cai Customs Department) discovered two motorbike drivers with many suspicious expressions at Nam Suu village, Ban Phiet commune, Bao Thang district

When the working group signaled to stop the motorbikes, the two drivers suddenly speeded up and crashed into the officials to flee.

The officials fiercely chases after them and arrested one driver carrying three white plastic packages (suspected as drugs).

The arrest confessed his name Nguyen Anh Tuan (born in 1973, residing in Coc Leu Ward, Lao Cai City).

Initially, Tuan declared that he had ordered 6,000 ecstasy pills (Hong shale) with a price of VND130 million from a man in Ban Phiet commune to make a profit. When Tuan was bringing them to Lao Cai City for consumption, he was arrested.

The examination results of the Criminal Technical Division of the Lao Cai Provincial Police Department showed that the amount of ecstasy bought by Tuan weighed 531.91 grams and is a methamphetamine-type drug.

On July 7, the border guard station of Lao Cai International border gate issued a decision to prosecute the criminal case of "drug trafficking", which happened in Nam Suu village, Ban Phiet commune, and completed documents to transfer the case to the Lao Cai Provincial Police.
