Seizing more than 1.2 tons of smuggled wastage

1,2 tons of wastage were seized by Ha Tien Customs Branch.

The case was detected in the area of pagoda road, Xa Xia hamlet, My Duc commune, Ha Tien town while the anti-smuggling force of Ha Tien Customs Branch was on their patrol and control border area of 2 side gate of Ha Tien Border Gate. At the time of being discovered, a Cambodian was driving a truck with full of wastage. That wastage did not have legal documents and went the wrong route as stipulated.

The working force has asked the person to take that truck to the office of Customs Branch for clarification. In there, he confessed that his name is Mak Boeun, was born in 1982 with Cambodian nationality. He also claimed that he was hired to transport that wastage to Vietnam.

After identifying the act of taking the foreign vehicle to Vietnam in the wrong route as stipulated in the border gate as well as transporting imported goods without legal documents in Customs operation area, Ha Tien Customs Branch has temporarily seized the vehicle and exhibits for investigation and handling in accordance with regulation.
