According to Hai Phong Customs Department, since June 2021, after some localities across the country had to apply social distancing following Directive No. 16/CT-TTg, the results of revenue collection of Hai Phong Customs Department in July, August, and September tended to decrease compared to the previous month.
Especially, the revenue in September was only about VND3,850 billion, down over 30% compared to August (VND5,565.5 billion) and the average level of the first eight months of the year (about VND5,570 billion on average). Hai Phong also dropped even more strongly by 35%.
Notably, September is also the only month that revenue collection of Hai Phong Customs has reached under VND4,000 billion since the beginning of the year.
Facing the trend of decline in revenue collection, Hai Phong Customs Department has drastically and urgently implemented trade facilitation solutions to increase revenue collection, along with accelerating measures to prevent revenue loss, effectively collect tax debts and minimize new debt.

Actual budget revenue collected in Hai Phong in September and also in the third quarter is also included in the general difficulties of the whole sector.
According to the General Department of Vietnam Customs, revenue collection in August of the whole sector was only VND27,213 billion, down VND7,950 billion, equivalent to 22.6% compared to July 2021, and September was estimated at VND20,000 billion, declining VND7,213 billion compared to August and down more than VND15,000 billion compared to July.
