Quang Ninh Customs Department’s officers inspect infriging vehicles in 2021.

Accordingly, the municipal customs department has asked units to comply with directions from the General Department of Vietnam Customs and the local government on strengthening state management and strictly abiding by the provisions of the law on minerals.

The department has requested units closely control and supervise imported and exported petroleum products and minerals; focus on traceability of exported minerals.

Units have been asked to coordinate with local competent agencies to supervise to detect and handle smuggling, trade fraud and illegal transportation of these products in risky areas.

The municipal customs department continues to diversify communication forms via the department’s website; coordinate with press agencies; asks residents not to support smugglers and inform offenses in border areas and seaports to competent forces.

The department has focused on checking the customs performance, physical inspection and internal management; handled officers and units who lack responsibility and collude with smugglers.
