A working room is arranged at TCS area for pilot run

Deputy Director of Tan Son Nhat International Airport Customs Branch Tran Ngoc Anh said that following the direction by the Director General and leaders of Ho Chi Minh City Customs Branch, with the support from Customs IT and Statistics Department and Customs control and supervision Department under the General Department of Customs, the Branch has collaborated with storage operators including TCS and SCSC to pilot the system for reviewing all steps.

Accordingly, the enterprise will prepare data related to shipments which will be imported to the storage area, Customs officers will prepare hypothetical documents to update to the pilot system. It will try to implement 10 operations / 60 operations arising everyday when running the system

During the pilot run, the units will together solve problems and perfect the operational process for effective management of luggage, vehicles, import and export goods, including cases required for strict control by the Director General.

Earlier, Ho Chi Minh City Customs Department and Tan Son Nhat International Airport Customs Branch prepared the implementation of VASSCM. The units arranged a meeting room to work with divisions to deal with difficulties and problems as soon as possible .

Along with that, the units reported on operational steps for a detailed plan; organized training courses for Customs officers, port, warehouse operators in the area and airlines; collaborated with port, warehouse operators to test the software at General Department of Customs. Till now, the preparation has been finished.

Previously, at a meeting with Ho Chi Minh City Customs Department and Tan Son Nhat International Airport Customs Branch last weekend, Director General Nguyen Van Can directed that the increasing volume of passengers, import and export goods via airway required Customs agencies to implement the Customs management in a modern manner for effectively controlling the luggage and import and export goods while ensuring convenience and reducing Custom clearance time.

“The implementation of VASSCM will control the journey of import and export goods and luggage. During the journey, the goods and luggage are controlled and supervised via the online management system. The General Department of Customs has issued the Plan on piloting the VASSCM at Tan Son Nhat International Airport, the units have collaborated together to effectively deploy this program.”

Attending the pilot, Mrs. Phung Le Trinh Head of TCS operation center – one of the units in charge of management of a large import and export warehouse at Tan Son Nhat Airport, shared that TSC receive more than 800 tons import and export goods per day on average. In order to facilitate customers in delivery of import and export goods, TCS has invested a lot in modern equipment and machines as well as applied information and technology for management processes.

TCS highly appreciated the pilot running of the system with the aim of removing problems arising before official implementation.

At present, the TCS company has taken the initiative in building information and technology infrastructure, implementing VASSCM version 1.6 which is the latest software version of the General Department of Customs and has been tested by the Customs IT and Statistics Department and the General Department of Customs. Moreover, TCS has taken the initiative in notifying and releasing leaflets to the customers, establishing a consultancy team to guide the operation, now more than 50 customers have been trained on this program and are also ready for the implementation in accordance with Customs plan, helping the goods management to be more convenient and scientific

According to Ho Chi Minh City Customs Department, the VASSCM will be piloted at Tan Son Nhat international airport within 10 days before the official deployment.
