Nghe An Customs: Positive signs from budget collection

In the first quarter, the import-export activities in Nghe An province are quite vibrant, some traditional export items such as: white limestone powder, wood and wood products, handicrafts, tea, Fruit juice, mobile phone speakers, children's toys, raw materials, processed garments then re-export for production ... machinery and equipment of investment projects, chemicals, plastic resins, aluminum rolls, canned milk ... continue to be maintained. In that, cold rolled steel sheet imported by Hoa Sen Group still contributes big revenue to Nghe An Customs Department.
According to statistics from Nghe An Customs Department, till 18th April 2017, the whole Department has done procedures for 4,743 Customs declarations with a total turnover of $US 260.4 million and 3,450 vehicles. The unit has implemented well policies on taxation, tax rates, calculation tax prices, strictly follow the process of consultation on determination of tax prices calculation. In addition, they have consulted about the price for 8 sets of declarations, which collected more than 246 million vnd; Carry out post clearance audit at the customs office for some companies and collect 521.4 million vnd, including fines for late payment of 443.1 million vnd; administrative fine of 78 million vnd.
According to Chu Quang Luan, Director of Nghe An Customs Department, in 2017, with the policy of attracting and calling for investment of Nghe An province, many big investors from Korea, Thailand, Japan... have deployed their investment projects in Nghe An, therefore, the import of machinery and equipment to create fixed assets will increase, leading to the income tax of the unit more favorable.
However, the basic import and export tax is still dependent on big projects of powerful corporations such as Vietnam Petroleum Group, Hoa Sen Group, Korea Cosmetics Group. In addition, white stone and super fine white stone powder is a big advantage of Nghe An that will also be exploited, processed for export and contribute significant revenue to the budget.
In order to maintain the collection rate, Nghe An Customs determines to focus on budget collection, ensuring proper collection, a collection of tax arisen, not to accumulate, not incurring arrears. From now to the end of the year, the unit still has to be more drastic in order to fulfill its assigned target and strive to achieve the target of 1,200 billion vnd as planned.
