More than 30,000 tablets of narcotics seized from Germany to Vietnam

VCN - A large number of synthetic narcotics sent from Germany to Vietnam by has just been seized by Customs forces in coordination with the Police.

The seizure was part of Project DE 920, chaired by the Hanoi Customs Department, in coordination with the Anti-Smuggling and Investigation Department (General Department of Vietnam Customs) and the police.

Specifically, on September 4, at the Phuc Yen City Post Office (Vinh Phuc province), the working group included: Unit 5 (Anti-Smuggling and Investigation Department), Anti-Smuggling Enforcement Team (Hanoi Customs Department), Drug-related Crime Investigation Police Department (C04, Ministry of Public Security), and Phuc Yen City Police.

They arrested Nguyen Xuan Tho (born in 1974, residing in Phuc Yen city, Vinh Phuc province), when the suspect came to implement procedures to receive two parcels suspected of containing drugs.

Through inspection of the parcels, the competent force seized nearly 4kg of synthetic drugs (about 11,000 tablets of synthetic narcotics in compressed form), and 0.403 kg of cocaine.

Previously, two consignments under the two bills of lading were transported and delivered by the working group in coordination with Noi Bai Express Post Office and Hanoi Express Customs Branch (Hanoi Customs Department) from the Noi Bai warehouse of express parcels to Phuc Yen City Post Office.

After the suspect came to receive the parcel, he was arrested by the Inter-sector working group.

Expanding the Project, on September 7, the competent forces continued to arrest two suspects and seize many synthetic drugs in Nam Dinh.

At Nam Dinh Post Office, the working group included: Unit 5 (The Anti-Smuggling and Investigation Department), the Anti-Smuggling Enforcement Team (Hanoi Customs Department), the Drug-related Crime Investigation Police Department (C04, Ministry of Public Security), Nam Dinh Customs Branch (Ha Nam Ninh Customs Department), Drug-related Crime Investigation Police Division (PC04 Nam Dinh Provincial Police), conducted inspection and seized a batch of drugs and arrested two suspects including: Le Minh Hung (born 1984) and Giang Hung Hung (born 1986), both permanently residing in Nam Dinh City.

The exhibits were nearly 4kg of synthetic drugs (about 20,000 tablets).

The above shipment was transported and controlled by the working group in coordination with Noi Bai Express Post Office and Hanoi Express Customs Branch (Hanoi Customs Department) from Noi Bai warehouse of express parcels to Nam Dinh Post Office. After the suspects came to implement the procedures to receive goods, they were arrested by the working group.

The case is being investigated and verified by competent authorities.
