At the conference, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Huan, Director of Long An Customs Department said that over the past time, the department has supported, facilitated and removed problems for enterprises in their production, business, import and export with the spirit: “The State facilitates and take enterprise-centric approach to create new trust and new motivation by specific actions and performance for business development”.
According to Director Nguyen Ngoc Huan, great efforts of Long An Customs Department have brought impressive numbers. In ten years from 2013 to 2023, the number of businesses carrying out customs procedures increased more than three times; the number of annual declarations reached over 540,000, ranked 14th of 33rd of the whole industry, increasing 4.6 times compared to 2013; the average annual revenue reached over VND4,000 billion, up 3.35 times. The department has achieved the largest revenue in the Mekong Delta region. The annual import and export turnover rose by 3.22 times compared to 2023.
Notably, the quick customs clearance time has contributed to attracting enterprises to carry out customs procedures in the area. Currently, 100% of investment projects in industrial parks with imported goods to create fixed assets have been considered for import tax exemption within two days.

In the coming time, Long An Customs Department commits to always create favorable conditions for import and export activities such as ensuring quick customs clearance time; reducing the time for guiding and receiving the notification of the list of imported tax-exempt goods from 3 days to 2 days; shortening the time from inspecting production facilities for export processing and production activities to determining eligibility for import tax exemption for all local businesses to only 3 days; reducing the time for issuing a decision on eligibility to carry out physical inspection of imported goods at construction sites and factories from 5 days to 3 days; answering all questions about tax policies and customs procedures of businesses via phone, email and website as soon as possible.
In addition, the department will coordinate with businesses to collect and update business information to serve the assessment and classification of declarations, ensuring the interests of businesses in ranking, assessing risks and classifying declarations. The department will regularly coordinate with the Industrial Park Management Board, Department of Industry and Trade, Department of Planning and Investment, and Department of Taxation to update status of enterprises. The department will also cooperate with banks to disseminate and instruct problems related to electronic tax collection and payment management.

At the conference, Long An Customs Department also shared with the business community new regulations on importing and exporting chemicals and seafood; the importance of certificates of origin and solutions to overcome common errors; some notes in processing, export production and processing activities.
Enterprises' problems related to actual production norms for export processing and production goods, and tax-free imported goods; regulations on on-site import and export; VAT rate; analysis and classification of goods; procedures for liquidation of machinery, supplies, equipment... have been satisfactorily answered by representatives of Long An Customs Department.
Within the framework of the conference, Long An Customs Department awarded Certificates of Merit from the department’s Director to 53 firms with achievements in 2023, including: 16 firms that comply well with customs laws and earn high import-export turnover, and 37 enterprises that comply well with customs laws and have high revenue paid to the state budget.
