Speaking at the conference's opening, Deputy Director of the Department of Reform and Modernization Tran Vu Minh said that, based on the cooperation agreement and proposal of JCCI, the General Department of Vietnam Customs and JCCI cooperated in organising the dialogue with Japanese businesses in Vietnam in 2022. Through this dialogue, Japanese businesses could exchange, discuss and receive answers to related customs and contribute ideas and initiatives to improve customs regulations in the future.
At the same time, it would be an opportunity for professional units and local customs departments to exchange and answer the problems of Japanese enterprises in Vietnam.
After the opening session, representatives of the Customs Control and Supervision Department, Customs IT and Statistics Department, and Import-Export Duty Department took a turn answering 28 problems sent by businesses before the dialogue.
For example, tax policy problems for export processing enterprises, procedures for lending or leasing goods between export processing enterprises and domestic suppliers, and state quality inspection procedures when importing.
At the conference, Mr. Kazuyoshi Mizuno, Head of the JCCI Customs Department, expressed his thanks to the departments under the General Department of Vietnam Customs for actively supporting and answering problems for the Japanese business community in Vietnam on customs procedures, and tax policy.
Mr. Kazuyoshi Mizuno also wished to continue to receive more cooperation from the General Department of Vietnam Customs in the future.
