Lang Son: Border gates and customs clearance of goods return to normal
Deputy Head of the Dong Dang-Lang Son Border Gate Economic Zone Management Board Hoang Khanh Duy said, based on discussions with relevant agencies in Guangxi (China) about customs clearance time after Giap Thin Lunar New Year holiday, on the morning of February 18, border gates on Lang Son border line including Huu Nghi international border gate and Dong Dang international station intermodal border gate (Cao Loc district); Chi Ma bilateral border gate (Loc Binh district); Tan Thanh sub-border gate, Coc Nam border gate, Na Hinh border gate (Van Lang district) and Na Nua sub-border gate (Trang Dinh district) that began to carry out normal customs clearance of goods.

Sharing about the import-export situation at border gates of Lang Son province during the Lunar New Year 2024, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Dai, Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Lang Son province, said that export of goods in the province is vibrant and mainly agricultural products and fruits, during the recent Tet holiday, there was no congestion of goods.
Previously, according to the Lunar New Year holiday schedule announcement from Chinese authorities, border gates operating with Lang Son province will be temporarily suspended from the 1st to the 4th of the Lunar New Year. From the 5th day of the Lunar New Year to the 8th day of the Lunar New Year, customs clearance for units with contracts and from February 18, border gates in Lang Son return to normal customs clearance.
Thanks to good regulation, there is no congestion in the import and export situation through border gates, on average, on the days near Tet, there are about nearly 400 vehicles/day and no vehicles are backlogged on the 30th of Tet. Accordingly, statistics show that on average, border gates cleared about 30 tons of goods every day, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Dai emphasized.
Noting in the first days of the new year, Lang Son Customs Department said that exporting agricultural products to China in the first days of the year received many positive signals. Specifically, from February 8 to 14, the unit received and handled customs clearance procedures for 826 vehicles transporting imported and exported goods through the province's border gates. In which, there are 585 vehicles transporting exported goods and 241 vehicles transporting imported goods. During the 7-day Tet holiday, border gate customs units handled procedures for nearly 13,000 tons of Vietnamese agricultural products and fruits exported to the Chinese market.
According to Lang Son Customs Department, starting from February 14, the number of vehicles transporting exported fruits to the province's border gates began to increase sharply to serve the needs of the Chinese market during the full moon of January. Forces at border gates, especially at Huu Nghi international border gate, Tan Thanh border gate and Chi Ma border gate, must organize overtime and increase working hours to clear fruit trucks as quickly as possible.
Sharing with Customs Magazine, Deputy Director of Tan Thanh Customs Branch Trieu Van Hanh said that currently some localities in the Southern provinces are starting to harvest some agricultural products such as dragon fruit, mango, durian, jackfruit, watermelon, etc, therefore, from February 14 until now, the number of vehicles transporting exported fruits moving to Tan Thanh border gate has begun to increase sharply. On average, every day Tan Thanh Customs receives and handles customs clearance procedures from 220 to 280 trucks of exported agricultural products.

It is forecast that in the coming days, the amount of goods arriving at border gates of Lang Son province will increase. In order for goods to be exported quickly to avoid congestion at Huu Nghi international border gates, Tan Thanh border gates, etc Lang Son Customs has directed border gate customs branches to implement measures such as: organizing overtime, increasing working hours, coordinating with functional forces to direct traffic to facilitate customs clearance of goods as quickly as possible.
