Ho Chi Minh City Customs supports businesses to comply with customs laws

Congratulating the enterprises selected for pilot participation in the program, Deputy Director of Ho Chi Minh City Customs Department Do Thanh Quang said that these are typical enterprises selected among more than 50,000 import-export enterprises carrying out customs procedures in the locality of HCM City.

Encouraging companies to participate in the program, Deputy Director Do Thanh Quang emphasized that businesses participating in this program will be supported by the Customs authority, guided to comply with customs laws, and answered questions, and requests related to the assessment of legal compliance of enterprises, to improve the compliance level of enterprises. Thereby, it will reduce the rate of document inspection and physical inspection of exported and imported goods, helping to reduce customs clearance time and costs for businesses.

In addition, enterprises are allowed to participate in Customs-Business cooperation programs based on signing memorandums of understanding between the Customs and enterprises to apply trade facilitation policies; participate in dialogue conference programs and training programs, support enterprises to improve the level of compliance with the customs law organized by the Customs authority, etc. Therefore, after businesses and Customs sign a memorandum of understanding, the enterprises will carefully study the contents to implement, and the Customs authority will support going together to improve enterprises' competitiveness. At the conference, Mr Ho Ngoc Phan, Deputy Director of the Risk Management Department - General Department of Customs, also shared many valuable program contents with businesses. Mr Phan said that out of 190,000 import-export enterprises in the country, the General Department of Customs chose to sign contracts with about 300 enterprises to pilot the program. Through facilitation to improve corporate compliance. The program's goal is that after 2 years of pilot implementation, businesses participating in the program gradually improve their compliance level.

For businesses to grasp and understand the contents vividly when participating in the program, at the conference, Head of Risk Management Division - Ho Chi Minh City Customs Department Tran Ba ​​Tung briefly introduced the content of Decision 1399/QD-TCHQ dated 15/7/2022 of the General Department of Customs on the pilot program to support and encourage enterprises to comply with the customs law voluntarily.

Representatives of enterprises participating in the signing expressed excitement when Ho Chi Minh City Customs Department selected them to participate in the user program. All businesses want the program to be successful and spread to other businesses.

A representative of DKSH Company in Vietnam said this is a program invested in and built by the General Department of Customs very carefully and methodically with many specific contents. Ho Chi Minh City Customs Department selects typical enterprises to attend the program.

Expressing her joy at being chosen to participate in the program, Ms Tran Le Thu, Deputy Director of UPS Vietnam Joint Stock Company, said that for logistics service businesses, fast customs clearance time would determine the success of enterprises. The company's overarching policy is compliance and cooperation. The company strictly complies with the host country's laws and is willing to cooperate with Customs to improve the business and investment environment. "The company wishes to participate more in useful programs like this", – Said Ms Thu.

Appreciating the program, Mr Dao Van Dai, Deputy General Manager of Central Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company 2, identified the two most enormous benefits for compliance businesses: fast customs clearance time and 24/7 support to answer problems, which is very useful for businesses. Mr Dai said that starting from a state-owned enterprise, now a joint-stock company, the company is always committed to complying well with customs laws to possess these incentives.
