Hidden 84kg of smuggled firecrackers in side door and floor of car

VCN – On the morning of 13/1, through the discussion with Customs News’s reporter, leader of Lao Bao Custom Branch (Quang Tri Customs Department) said that, the unit has coordinated with Border Defense force to detect subjects transporting 84kg of firecrackers from Laos to Vietnam.

About 5:00PM on 12/1, Customs and Border Defense forces of Lao Bao International Border Gate coordinated for inspection a vehicle with license plate No: 73C 07060. Then the competent force discovered inside 2 doors and floor of the car 84kg of firecrackers of all kinds.

At the office, 2 subjects claimed that their name was Nguyen Huu Nghi (was born in 1979, lives in Dong Hoi City, Quang Binh province) and Tran Canh Phuc (was born in 1998, lives in Gio Linh District, Quang Binh province). They went to Laos for transporting the above firecrackers to Vietnam for earning a profit.

Currently, the Border Post of Lao Bao International Border Gate has been investigated for clarification. As known, from the beginning of 2018 until now, the Border Post of Lao Bao International Border Gate has detected and seized 4 cases of transporting smuggled firecrackers cross border with total weight of nearly 200kg.
