HCM City: Revenue collection falls more than VND 12,500 billion

According to HCM City Customs Department, import – export turnover of goods in August is also suffering a sharp decrease, only reached $6.99 billion, down 7.17% over the same period in July and 11.65% over the same period in 2019.
Hence, revenue collection in August is estimated to achieve VND 8,710 billion, down 1.21% over the same period in July 2020 (achieving VND 8,270 billion) and falling 16.7% over the same period in 2019.
Accumulated revenue collection by the end of August 26 of HCM City Customs Department was estimated to reach VND 64,842 billion, 56.4% of the ordinance estimate and 53% of the striving target, decreasing by 16.2% over the same period in 2019. In the first eight months, the revenue collection of HCM City has decreased VND 12,554 billion from the same period in 2019.
Director of HCM City Customs Department Dinh Ngoc Thang said that facing the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic affecting revenue collection of the unit, HCM City Customs Department has implemented solutions to support enterprises such as: training, assisting to implement procedures online and information exchange via email and phone. At the same time, implementing trade facilitation scheme; organise work with shipping lines, other units operating warehouses, yards and logistics services to implement optimal coordination solution between State management activities and business operations, ensuring efficiency, science and minimising congestion in goods circulation with the aim of achieving the highest result in State revenue collection.
