HCM City Customs seized container of smuggled used clocks
Hundreds of smuggled used clocks were seized at Cat Lai port. |
On December 19, Saigon port area 1 Customs Branch inspected and seized one container of smuggled used clocks.
This shipment had one container imported to Cat Lai port more than a month ago, with the declaration opened by Tan Phong Transport Investment Co., Ltd. (located on the 8th floor of Vien Dong Building, 14 Phan Ton, P. Da Kao, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City).
Enterprises declared to import goods including 100 percent new wrench bolts with taxable value more than VND 48 million. The goods originated in France.
Although the company opened a customs declaration from early December 2019, it did not carry out the procedures of presenting goods to customs authorities for inspection.
After repeatedly inviting businesses to present goods for inspection but enterprises did not implement, Saigon port area 1 Customs Branch implemented an inspection witnessed by relevant units.
As a result, they detected all the goods contained in containers were wall clocks and desk clocks that had all been used.
Currently, Saigon port area 1 Customs Branch is continuing to count and request verification.
There are some pictures of the case:
