Hanoi: Interdisciplinary jump into the fight of anti-smuggling, counterfeit and non-conformity goods in the health field

Hanoi requested related authorities to strengthen the work of anti-smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit in the health field.

Accordingly, the People’s Committee of Hanoi City requested the permanent office of the Hanoi Steering Committee on anti-smuggling, counterfeit and trade fraud (Steering Committee 389 of the city) to chair and coordinate with the Department of Health, Hanoi City Police and related Branches, Departments and units, for the inspection and control of cosmetics, supplementary foods, clinics, medical equipment, beauty salons, massage establishments, health care clinics and beauty centers in the city.

Furthermore, the People's Committee of Hanoi City requested the Department of Information and Communications to chair, coordinate, orient and direct the press and information agencies in order to promote the propaganda about the harmful effects of pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, supplementary foods and traditional medicines which are fake, of unknown origin, with no quality assurance, and intellectual property infringement.

Moreover, to publicize information about violating organizations and individuals in accordance with regulations, to praise good people and good deeds in the prevention and fight against smuggling and trade frauds, the production and trading of counterfeit goods and goods of unknown origin, non-conformity goods.

The business associations and enterprises in the city are responsible for providing full information about the goods to the management authorities and consumers; to coordinate and cooperate with law enforcement authorities in monitoring goods consumption.

Hanoi City also requested concerned authorities to propagate the harmful effects of products of unknown origin and quality, infringement of intellectual property; To promptly prevent and remove improperly advertising contents and information, and at the same time publicize the violating organizations and individuals.
