Hanoi Customs: Export turnover exceeds $31 billion

This is the result of deploying solutions to support and facilitate maximally and at the same time ensure the inspection and management of customs authority.
Hanoi Customs Department has implemented programmes and plans to support businesses in carrying out customs procedures in the city.
The Customs branches have established the trade facilitation implementation team, headed by the leader of the branch.
The group is responsible for guiding newly established and registered enterprises to carry out customs procedures, organise to meet and regularly pay attention to firms with large revenues that are carrying out procedures at units and enterprises and corporations without large investment projects and high import-export turnover to grasp the operation’s situation, forecasting revenue, consulting on the implementation of customs procedures and tax procedures; maintaining a direct communication channel between the leaders of the branch, team leader and the manager of the enterprise to smoothly convey information during the implementation of customs procedures.
In addition, customs branches also strengthen the force for cargo clearance, arrange and assign customs officials to perform professional work who firmly understand legal regulations to improve the efficiency of customs inspection, quickly settle customs procedures, and reduce cargo clearance time; arrange and assign customs officials to work overtime as requested by firms, promptly solve problems of enterprises related to customs procedures.
Thanks to the effective implementation of dual goals, both pandemic prevention and ensuring smooth and convenient professional operations, in the first six months of the year, the Hanoi Customs Department carried out procedures for 675,546 declarations, equivalent to 117.7% from the same period in 2020.
The number of export declarations was 293,489 declarations, 122.4% of the same period in 2020, while the number of import declarations was 382,057 declarations, 114.3% of the same period in 2020.
Besides that, import-export turnover through the province hit $31.04 billion, equal to 131% of the same period in 2020; export turnover was $14.34 billion, equaling 122% of the same period in 2020), import turnover was $16.7 billion, hitting 140% of the same period in 2020.
Thanks to solutions to create maximum facilitation, remove difficulties and obstacles for businesses; strengthening the fight against smuggling, trade fraud and revenue loss in the first six months of the year, the revenue collection results of Hanoi Customs Department jumped significantly compared to the same period in 2020.
Revenue of the whole department reached VND 13,829/23,000 billion, equaling 60.1% of the current appropriation and 134.5% of the same period in 2020. In Hanoi, the revenue reached VND 10,433/18,600 billion, equaling 56.1% of the estimate and equal to 127.1% of the same period in 2020.
