Handling procedures for transit goods backlogged at Cat Lai port quickly

On September 21, Nguyen Thanh Long, Deputy Manager of Saigon port area 1 Customs Branch, said that implementing the directives of leader of HCM City Customs Department at a dialogue for removing difficulties relating to procedure of transit goods at Cat Lai port, after the meeting, Saigon port are 1 Customs Branch sent documents to Saigon New port Corporation and four enterprises operating transit services via inland waterway vehicles that have a large number of backlogged goods at the seaport.
From September 17 to September 19, 2020, Saigon Port area 1 Customs Branch completed clearance procedures for 39 independent transport declarations, with 677 containers of transit goods.
Gemadept Shipping Company had nine declarations, with 221 containers; Hoyer Transport Vietnam Company had one declaration with 25 containers; Tan Cang Waterway Transport Joint Stock Company had 14 declarations with 211 containers and New Port Cypress Joint Stock Company had 15 declarations with 220 containers. Currently, there are only 568 containers backlogged at the port, because the company has not registered the transport declaration.
Along with the immediate settlement of backlogged goods for enterprises, Saigon port area 1 Customs Branch sent a report to the HCM City Customs Department about arising problems when implementing customs procedures for goods in transit via inland waterway vehicles.
