Hai Phong Customs: Revenue collection from automobiles increase by nearly VND 100 billion

VCN – The result of revenue collection in January 2023 of Hai Phong Customs Department dropped sharply compared to the same period last year due to the effect of the long Tet holidays.

According to Hai Phong Customs Department, in January, the whole department collected VND 5,118.1 billion, reaching 6.1% of the whole year’s target and a decrease of VND 1,570.3 billion compared to the same period last year (equivalent to a decline of 23.5%). One of the main reasons for the decrease in revenue was due to the long Tet holidays (New Year’s Day and Lunar New Year took place in January 2023).

The major contributors to state revenue, imported CBU cars have contributed VND 1,077 billion to the state budget, an increase of VND 96 billion compared to the same period last year.

In 2023, Hai Phong Customs Department was assigned a target of revenue collection of VND 79,900 billion, an increase of 25.56% compared to the target of 2022.

Hai Phong Customs Department identified this as the most important political task, so from the first day of 2023, the unit has proposed many groups of tasks and solutions to successfully complete the task of revenue collection in 2023.

Accordingly, the unit has focused on 10 key tasks, such as striving to complete the revenue collection target in 2023; strengthen customs supervision and management, and continue to effectively implement two objectives at the same time which are trade facilitation and ensuring state management of customs; improve the effectiveness of the prevention and fight against smuggling, trade fraud and illegal transport of goods across the border; and strengthen risk management at all operational stages.

At the same time, promoting administrative reform, customs modernization and digital transformation; focusing on implementing the basic construction projects of the Department to ensure the set schedule; focusing on building and training human resources; continue to maintain discipline, strengthen the prevention and fight against corruption and negativity; continue to develop a practical, effective and practical Customs-Enterprise partnership; promoting the dissemination and ensuring to improve the quantity and quality of communication; to renovate methods and improve the operational efficiency of mass organizations, socio-political organizations under the Department.
