According to the department, the department issued two decisions on administrative sanctions with fines worth VND178 million; and fined 325 violations worth VND7.707 billion.
The offences seized and handed by the department in the months mainly are related to customs procedures, such as failing to declare and submit a customs dossier without a permit or ineligible for import or export of goods; failing to declare or falsely declare name, code and tax rate of goods.
Regarding the smuggling and trade fraud and illegal cross-border transportation of goods in the area, Hai Phong Customs Department assessed that these activities in April took place complicatedly with many new and sophisticated methods, such as failing to declare or falsely declaring the actual status of goods, the origin and transportation route of shipment; hiding smuggled goods in legal products, smuggling transited good; transferring and illegally issuing an invoice for a value-added tax refund, forging customs documents, and dossiers.
