Revenue drops 22.77% year-on-year

Formosa Ha Tinh company contributes more than 90% of the unit’s revenue. In the first months of the year, the company faced difficulties in production and business, so it limited the import of input materials, leading the drop in revenue of Ha Tinh Customs.

Despite difficulties in the first six months of the year, at this time, the production and business activities of Hung Nghiep Formosa Ha Tinh Iron and Steel Co., Ltd have seen many positive signals. From the end of March until now, the company has continuously exported many orders of steel, steel billet and imported many coal and ore raw materials... thereby paying large import and export tax for Ha Tinh Customs.

Mr. Cao Duc Thang, Head of Technical Division, Ha Tinh Customs Department said, to fulfil the budget target, Ha Tinh Customs Department has issued a dispatch to urge the collection; directly work with big enterprises to implement specific solutions, especially accompanying them to overcome difficulties and maintain stable production and business

Not only focusing on solving difficulties for enterprises, Ha Tinh Customs has also supported newly established enterprises and projects; actively invited and attracted enterprises to carry out procedures at the department. The Department has also directed and guided the branches to well implement policies on tax exemption and reduction, and budget collection; guided enterprises to carry out customs procedures for goods on the free-tax list. In addition, the fight against smuggling and trade fraud, tax management, anti-loss of revenue through value, commodity codes have been strengthened.

Thanks to effective solutions, as of August 27, Ha Tinh Customs collected and remitted to the state budget VND 5,706.58 billion, equaling 52.03% of the estimate assigned by the Ministry of Finance. However, this revenue decreased by 22.77% year-on-year.

At Xuan Hai Port Customs Branch, state budget revenue reached VND11.11 billion. The reason for the decrease is that the enterprises here have completed the import of machinery and equipment to put them into use, and the enterprises doing customs procedures at the branch are export processing and production enterprises, so the tax payables are not significant.

At the Vung Ang port border gate Customs Branch, the budget revenue as of August 27 reached VND 5,209.94 billion.

Expect positive signals

From the beginning of the third quarter, Ha Tinh Customs has implemented synchronous solutions to clear the flow of import and export goods on all routes; closely followed the guidelines of authorities at all levels, Ha Tinh Customs have solved difficulties and obstacles; cut unnecessary costs for businesses; arranged officers and employees on duty 24/24 to ensure the fastest clearance.

The synchronous and flexible solutions that Ha Tinh Customs implemented in the first months of the year had a positive impact on budget collection in the whole unit. On the Cau Treo road, cargo clearance activities have taken place very excitingly in the past time. Thanks to increased support, businesses have promoted the import of consumer goods such as agricultural products, beverages, cosmetics, wood...

As of August 27, the total import-export turnover through the Cau Treo International Border Gate Customs Branch reached US$294.7 million, up 18.26% year-on-year, thereby contributing to the state budget VND485.39 billion, equaling 95.2% of the assigned target in 2023 and up 44.9% year-on-year.

Talking to Customs Magazine, Mr. Le Minh Duc, Head of Cau Treo International Border Gate Customs Branch, said that in addition to solutions to strengthen support for businesses, the unit also reviewed and stepped up the combat against smuggling and trade fraud to prevent loss of budget revenue. Accordingly, enterprises with signs of suspicion of trade fraud will be channelized for inspection.

According to Mr. Dinh Van Hoa, Deputy Director of Ha Tinh Customs Department, in an effort to ensure revenues and prevent loss of revenue in the last months of the year, the unit will advise competent authorities to have policies to promote trade and export; review and revise export-related support policies in the coming period. In addition, Ha Tinh Customs Department will also actively and proactively coordinate with relevant units to effectively deploy tax support solutions according to the issued Resolutions of the National Assembly and the Government to support enterprises. .

In particular, Ha Tinh Customs is coordinating with the Department of Industry and Trade, the Department of Planning and Investment, and the Management Board of the Economic Zone of Ha Tinh province to exchange and grasp the advantages, disadvantages and obstacles of enterprises in the implementation of regulations related to rules of origin, trade and investment, and free trade agreements so as to have a plan to guide and promptly remove difficulties in import and export activities, contributing to increasing budget revenue, said Mr. Dinh Van Hoa.
