Goods cleared through Ho Chi Minh City Customs rise nearly 25%

Ho Chi Minh City Customs Department said, in the first month of 2024, total trade turnover of the unit recorded a year-on-year rise of 24.54% or US$1.92 billion to US$9.74 billion
Of which, imports rose 15.75% or US$692 billion to US$5.08 billion and exports surged 35.79% or US$1.23 billion to US$4.66 billion.
Thus, the trade balance of the Ho Chi Minh City Customs Department from the beginning of the year to January 31, 2024 saw a deficit of about US$429 million.

The increase in the trade turnover has had positive impact of the revenue of Ho Chi Minh City Customs Department. As of January 31, 2024, the unit earned VND9,453.2 billion, equivalent to 7.23% of the assigned target (VND130,800 billion); up 6.53% or VND579.4 billion year-on-year.
