General Department of Vietnam Customs destroys more than 13,000 cigarettes
All the violated goods were destroyed by Customs forces. |
This is the first time that Anti- smuggling and Investigation Department have organized a destruction of cigarettes from the beginning of 2018.
According to the Anti- smuggling and Investigation Department, on 2/2/2018, at the headquarter of Viet Xuan Moi Environment Joint Stock Company (address in Thai Nguyen), the unit has cooperated with the Hanoi Department of Finance to destroy more than 13,000 cigarettes.
As known, the above violated goods that were transported illegally from Cuba to Vietnam via Noi Bai International Airport, were seized by Anti-Smuggling Enforcement Unit in the North (Unit 1, Anti-Smuggling and Investigation Department) in March 2017.
Those cigarettes were transported for destruction from the warehouses at the head quarter of the General Department of Customs, to the Viet Xuan Moi Environment Joint Stock Company to ensure the status quo and customs seals.
During the destruction process (in the form of fire), there is direct participation of mobile surveillance vehicles transmitting images to the headquarters of the General Department of Vietnam Customs.
