GDVC collects about VND25,000 billion in January
Officers of Hai Phong Customs Department at work, the department has a high revenue of the Customs sector.

According to the General Department of Vietnam Customs (GDVC), the revenue from imports and exports in January 2023 saw a year-on-year decrease by 42.3% to VND 24,852 billion, meeting 5.8% of the estimate.

In 2022, the Customs sector’s revenue rose by 24.58% or VND86,280 billion compared with the same period in the previous year to VND437,351 billion, meeting 104.13% of the target.

In January 2023, the total trade in goods fell by 17.3% compared with a month ago to about US$46.56 billion. The export turnover and import turnover deceased by 13.6% and 21.3% to US$25.08 billion and US$21.48 billion, respectively.

The import and export turnover in January dropped by 25.01% or US$15.53 year-on-year. In the month, the country had a trade surplus of US$3.6 billion.

The total trade in goods in 2022 hit the record of US$730.28 billion, up 9.2% or US$ 61.28 billion compared with 2021, of which export turnover at US$371.3 billion, up 10.5% and import turnover at US$358.9 billion, up 7.9%. The country had a trade surplus of US$12.4 billion in the year.
