Exposing trick of drug trafficking from Cambodia to Vietnam

Drug was hidden inside block assy, short of used automobile.

Through investigation, the Anti-smuggling and Investigation Department cooperated with C04 - Ministry of Public Security conducted the measure for investigation and verification. They detected the illegal drug trafficking line operated by a Vietnamese person in coordination with foreigners in Cambodia.

The trick of illegal transport of drugs from Cambodia through the southwest border area was extremely sophisticated. The trick used by this group was taking advantage or colluding with a number of Vietnamese people for hiring to transport. Drugs were concealed in hollow steel cylinders and block assy, short of used automobile.

After being transported to Vietnam, drugs were gathered at warehouses in Binh Chanh district or Tan Binh district of HCM City to be broken down into small pieces for distribution to domestic consumers and illegally exported.

The case of drug examination and seizure on July 19, at Cat Lai Port - HCM City was a typical case. The Anti-Smuggling and Investigation Department (General Department of Vietnam Customs) coordinated with C04 - Ministry of Public Security; Anti-Drug and Crime Prevention Department of the High Command of Border Defence and other competent forces to conduct an urgent inspection for a container with the number GAOU2013482, seizing 40 kg of methamphetamine hidden in four packages of marble stone. The forces arrested five subjects including two Koreans, two Chinese, one Vietnamese.

Expanding investigation, the Special Project ĐN620 continued to arrest nearly 20 subjects, seizing nearly 1.4 quintals of drugs of all kinds.

Through physical inspection of exported block of stone, the competent authorities seized 40kg of methamphetamine.

From the seizue of illegal export drug as mentioned above, expanding the investigation, the competent authorities seized nearly 1.4 quintals of drugs and arrested 20 subjects.
