Dozens of banned automotive engines in transit shipments

The shipment was transported by Logistic V Joint Stock Company. According to the declaration, the transit goods in the container were washing machines and motor spare parts.

After detecting suspicious signs from the shipment, Customs Branch of the ports of Saigon area 1 made a physical inspection. As a result, the goods were found to be automobile engines and automotive parts, on the list in banned imports. If these goods are transited, theu must be licensed by the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

In fact, the above shipment was scheduled to MocBai –TayNinh province for export to Cambodia.

Previously, in early June 2016, Customs Branch of the ports of Saigon Region 1 also discovered two used cars and many automobile engines and marine engines hidden in transit shipments from South Korea to Vietnam for exporting to Cambodia.
