According to the Customs Enforcement Team under Dong Thap Customs Department, the local Customs and Police forces inspected and detected 1,400 packs of smuggled cigarettes that were hidden inside four big plastic bags and transported by a man. When detecting the competent forces, this man left goods and escaped from the scene.

Earlier, the working team, including the Customs Enforcement Team of So Thuong Border Gate under Thuong Phuoc Border Gate Customs Branch and Police of Thuong Thoi Hau A Commune, Hong Ngu District detected 900 packs of smuggled foreign cigarettes inside two blue bags without an owner.

Through verification, the working group discovered that the above goods were transported by smugglers from the border to the area and then shipped inland for consumption.
