Discovery of truck transporting foreign wines and air conditioners of unknown origin

At 3:30 AM on May 15, at Km 50, National Highway 9 in Dakrong commune, Dakrong district, the Customs Enforcement Team (Quang Tri Customs Department) stopped and escorted a means of transport to the headquarters of the Customs Enforcement Team.
After conducting a physical inspection and examining all vehicles, the Customs force discovered goods originating from a foreign country, including 10 sets of Panasonic air conditioners; 24 bottles of The Balvenie wine; 24 bottles of Suntory Whiskey Toki wine; 60 bottles of Roku Gin wine and 48 bottles of Yamazakura Fine Blended Whiskey wine, with total value of VND 160.5 million.
Through initial results of the investigation and verification, the driver and the people in the car did not provide invoices or legal documents and claimed they were the owners of the above goods.
The Customs Enforcement Team has made a record of administrative violations of two subjects for committing the act of "transporting imported goods without legal documents in the area of customs operation" and issuing a decision on holding in custody all exhibits to submit to authorities for consideration and handling in accordance with regulations.
Previously, on 13/5, Quang Tri Customs continuously discovered three cases of using converted passenger cars to transport Chivas 25 wine, Macallan and juicer without vouchers, with total value nearly VND 260 million.
