Dien Bien Customs busts two cases of transporting heroin smuggling

The Customs arrests the suspect and confiscated evidence at the scene.

According to Dien Bien Customs Department, on December 1, the Anti-Drug Enforcement Team chaired and coordinated with the PC04, Son La Provincial Police, Son La Border Guard, Son La Customs Branch (Dien Bien Customs Department); Chieng Ngan Commune Police, Son La City…, in arresting two suspects of drug trafficking.

At the scene, the suspects fled into the forest when being detected by law enforcement agencies. The working team arrested Lo Thai Viet, 24, residing in He Village, Chieng Khoang commune, Quynh Nhai district, Son La province.

Inspecting the leather bag wearing by Viet, the enforcement forces seized two rectangular packages, containing white and compressed powder (suspected to be heroin).

Viet said that he bought the two rectangular packages as heroin from the Vietnam - Laos border area for consumption.

Currently, PC04 and Son La Police have invested the case.
