In 2020, the target of Da Nang Customs Department was VND4,100 billion. While there was one day left before ending the fiscal year, the revenue of Da Nang Customs Department already reached VND4,170.1 billion, exceeding 1.7% compared to the assigned task and increasing 3.5% over the same period in 2019.

Although the assigned estimate of revenue collection increased compared to 2019 in the condition that the revenue of Da Nang city did not increase due to the import duty rate under the Free Trade Agreements (FTA) is in a period of sharp reduction and the CPTPP officially took effect.

In particular, in 2020, due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, it led to a series of consequences for import and export activities of Vietnam in general and the management area of Da Nang Customs in particular.

However, with the efforts, consensus and political determination of the leaders of the Department and all officials and employees of Da Nang Customs Department, they have completed and exceeded the target of revenue collection.

Besides that, in the last months of 2020, Da Nang Customs Department proposed a number of solutions to strengthen inspections, valuations, and conduct price consultations for the cases suspected of declaring a low price, avoiding the situation of missing the case, backlogged documents of suspicious cases of declared value; inspecting and reviewing the customs valuation for goods with high tax rates and having large import turnover regularly, focusing on the inspection of imported cars.

In addition, the Department has strengthened the inspection and review of goods’ names, HS codes, and tax rates at customs clearance and post-clearance audit stages; check and firmly grasp the situation of tax debt; classification of debt groups, tax debt status of the enterprises; drastically handling, coercing and recovering tax debts; strengthening post-clearance audit, internal inspection, improving the effectiveness of anti-smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeiting.

In particular, Da Nang Customs Department focused on implementing solutions on the implementation of customs procedures amid the pandemic, ensuring the health of customs officials, working environment and ensuring smooth goods circulation, that did not affect the interests of people and businesses in the implementation of customs procedures.
