Customs sector earns about VND 184 trillion in the first half of the year

According to the GDVC, the revenue in June reaches VND 29,459 billion. In the first half of the year, the revenue drops 19.19% year-on-year to VND 183,744 billion, meeting 43.23% of the estimate.
The Customs revenue plunged due to the gloomy import and export activities. In June, the total Vietnam’s import and export turnover increased by 3.6% compared with the previous month to US$ 56.01 billion. Of which, the export turnover and import turnover increases by 4.5% and 2.6% to US$ 29.3 billion and 26.71 billion, respectively.
However, the total trade in goods of Vietnam in the six months of the year is estimated to decrease by 15.1% to US$ 316.64 billion compared with the previous year.
The export turnover drops 12.1% to US$ 164.45 billion and import turnover falls 18.2% to US$ 152.19 billion year-on-year.
Vietnam earns a surplus of US$2.59 billion in merchandise trade. In the first six months of 2023, the whole country has a surplus of US$12.26 billion.
