Customs sector constantly perfecting the institution of policy and regulations

In recent times, administrative reform is always a key task of the Customs sector and the General Department of Vietnam always implements this task synchronously and comprehensively in all professional areas. Achieving the leading result in the group of General Department under the Ministry of Finance with a score of 93.7 out of 100, it affirmed that the administrative reform of the Customs sector has made great progress.

Specifically, to promote reform and perfect the customs institution, the General Department of Vietnam Customs has submitted to the Prime Minister for approval of the Customs development strategy for the period of 2021 - 2030 in Decision No. 628/QD-TTg dated 20 May 2022.

In addition, the Customs has focused on amending and supplementing legal documents to further institutionalize the views of the Party and State on developing a socialist-oriented market economy; PAR orientation, improving the business environment, enhancing the national competitiveness of the Government; removing arising problems; ensuring effective state management and facilitating individuals, organizations and enterprises; meeting the requirements of import-export activities in the period of Covid-19 pandemic prevention.

Accordingly, since the beginning of 2021, the General Department of Vietnam Customs has chaired the development and submitted 16 legal documents to competent authorities for promulgation. Specifically, the General Department of Vietnam Customs has developed and submitted to the Ministry of Finance for submitting to the National Assembly Standing Committee for promulgating one resolution, four decrees issued by the Government, two decisions issued by the Prime Minister, and nine circulars issued by Minister of Finance.

In addition, the General Department of Vietnam Customs has also gathered resources to develop and complete other important draft legal documents.

In parallel with the work of perfecting institutions, policies and laws, the Customs authority has promoted publicizing administrative procedures; maintaining dialogue with enterprises; promptly settled complaints and suggestions of people and businesses; regularly strengthened inspection and examination activities to ensure the effectiveness of law enforcement and limit problems and complaints.
