Customs sector collects about 120 trillion VND in four months

VCN- According to statistics from the General Department of Viet Nam Customs, bythe end of April, the entire Customs sector collected about 120,044 billion VND, accounting for 37% of the estimate, equivalent to 35% of the desired target, up25.44% compared to 2018.

In April, revenue collected by the Customs sector reached 26 trillion VND thanks to import turnover from major commodities, including imported CBU cars and petroleum products.

Export turnover of major commodities in April tended to decrease.

Export turnover of telephones and accessories wasestimated at US$3.9 billion, down 27.6% compared to March. Theexport value of this category in the first four months reached $16.03 billion, down 0.2% compared to 2018.

Export turnover of textiles and garments reached $2.3 billion, down 9.2% compared to the previous month, bringing the export value of this category in the first four months to $9.43 billion, up 9.8% compared to 2018.

Export turnover of computers, electronic products and parts were estimated at $2.5 billion, down 11.5% compared to the previous month, bringing the total value of this category in the first four months to $9.56 billion, up 12.6% compared to 2018.

Export turnover of footwear was $1.4 billion in April, up 6.9% compared to the previous month, bringing total value of this category in the first four months to $5.33 billion, up 13.4% compared to 2018.

Customs also estimated the import turnover of many major import commodity groups declined in April.

Import turnover of telephones and accessories wasestimated at $4 billion, down 27.6% compared to March; while the import value of this category in the first four months reached $16.03 billion, down 0.2% compared to 2018.

Import turnover of machinery, equipment, tool and parts was estimated at $3 billion, down 1.4% compared to March and total import value of this category in the first four months was estimated at $11.57 billion, up 15.25% compared to 2018.

Import turnover of telephones and accessories wasestimated at $850 million, down 11.6% compared to March, bringing total import turnover of this category in the first four months reached $3.64 billion, down 15.5% compared to 2018.

Import turnover of fabric was estimated at $1.2 billion in April, up 10.9% compared to March, bringing total import turnover of this category in the first four months to $4.07 billion, up 8% compared to 2018.

In April, total import and export turnover of goods in the whole country was estimated at $40.5 billion, down 7.8% compared to March. Export turnover was estimated at $19.9 billion, down 12.6% and import turnover was estimated at $20.6 billion, down 2.6%.

Total import and export turnover in the first four months was estimated at $156.81billion, up 8%. Export turnover was estimated at $78.76 billion and import turnover was estimated at $78.05 billion, up 10.4%.

Vietnam's trade balance in April is estimated at a deficit of $700 million. From the beginning of the year to the end of April 2019, Vietnam's surplus reached $711 million .

The revenue of local customs departments reached from 30 to 40%, including Ho Chi Minh City Customs Department reached 33.97%, HaiPhong Customs Department reached 47.39%; Ha Noi Customs Department reached 31.78%; Vung Tau Customs department reached 29.62%; Dong Nai Customs Department reached 33.02%.

BinhDinh Customs Department reached 92.24% of the target, An Giang Customs Department reached 96,1% of the target, TayNinh Customs Department reached 119.68% of the target, KienGiang Customs Department reached 288.75% of the target and KhanhHoa Customs Department reached 155.49% of the target.

The General Department of Vietnam Customs assigned additional revenue targets to customs departments with high increases in revenue. It also requested provincial and municipal customs departments to monitor revenues to assign target to customs units and adjust revenue collection in line with reality.
