This is the first time that the young customs officers of the General Department of Customs have attended the competition. The winners include, Hoang Anh Duc, of the Post-Clearance Audit Department, who won the second prize. Pham Nguyen Hai Anh, of the Risk Management Department, and Vu Ngoc Dien, of Customs IT and Statistics, won the Consolation prizes.
The National Youth Informatics Competition for young cadres and civil servants has been jointly organized by the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Ministry of Education and Training and the Vietnam Informatics Association since 2013. The contest aims to promote the effective application of information technology and improve the work quality of young people, contributing to the Party and State's policy on administrative reform, digital transformation and building a digital government.
In 2021, the 8th competition was held in a special context with many difficulties in organization, amid the turbulence of the Covid-19 pandemic. However, adjustments to the examination method by the Organizing Committee helped the competition save money without significant impact on quality.
This year's competition has 29 provinces, cities and four central agencies. Four authorities organized Provincial Contests including, Bac Ninh, Bac Giang, Quang Nam and Tra Vinh, with contestants totaled at 212.
The new element of this year's competition is that the organizers have built online exam software (for table A), used reputable testing software according to international standards (for tables W, E, P); and made the most of existing technology solutions and scientific plans to divide and monitor exam rooms to ensure transparency, fairness and safety for the contest.
In order for candidates to be familiar with the new method and perform their best, the organizers held an online meeting with the provinces, the Youth Union and the contestants to organize pilot tests and answer questions for candidates.
On December 5, 2021, the National Competition was officially held. The Jury Council evaluated the entries and found the individuals with the best achievements for the Organizing Committee to award prizes to.

Each contestant who wins the first, second, and third prizes at the contest will receive cash prizes and gifts.
