According to the General Department of Vietnam Customs (GDVC), the post clearance audit across the country was promoted and strengthened by listing enterprises to assign local customs departments to conduct the audit under plans.
The GDVC promptly responded to difficulties and problems arising during the implementation process; issued official dispatch notifying about the inspection and supervision of local customs departments for agricultural products imported across land borders.
The GDVC issued Official Dispatch No. 1796/TCHQ-KTSTQ dated April 18, 2023, which directed the post-clearance audit force of the whole Customs industry to not implement the unnecessary audits, and focused on selecting targeting enterprises for inspection.
The Customs industry conducted 2,181 audits, including 893 audits at the Customs declarants’ premises and 1,288 audits at the Customs offices.
Through the audits, the Customs assessed taxes and fined administrative violations worth VND1,081.62 billion (an increase of 63% year-on-year), and collected VND966.28 billion (an increase 115% year-on-year).
Some local customs departments achieved large revenue from the post clearance audit compared to the previous year such as Ha Noi, Binh Duong, Hai Phong, Long An, Lang Son…
In 2024, the Customs industry will continue to promote the post clearance across the country; implement key plans, and direct local customs departments to perform comprehensively and prevent promptly violations across the country.
