For questions in the Customs field, Ho Chi Minh City Customs Department has promptly instructed and answered that it was pleased with Japanese businesses. In which, Ho Chi Minh Customs Department recorded proposals by the Japanese Business Association to report to the General Department of Vietnam Customs (GDVC) to overcome the inconsistency on HS code in goods clearance to facilitate businesses in import and export activities.
For recommendation on Import duty and VAT exemption for imported goods under Official Development Assistance (ODA) projects, Ho Chi Minh Customs Department has explained, instructed and provided legal documents related to projects funded by ODA loans and entitled to investment incentive.
Japanese businesses said that in the past, the Customs’ goods handling for proposals on providing the list of banned imported goods has assisted businesses to implement the Customs declaration well, and reduced unnecessary violations. For unofficial fees in Customs clearance, they have been significantly improved.
The leader of Ho Chi Minh City Customs Department affirmed that when receiving requests from business, individuals and organizations, the Department has replied by written response within 5 working days from the date of receipt of the request.

At the discussion, Mr. Tran Vinh Tuyen, Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, stated that Japan is the third largest import- export market and the sixth largest investor in the City with 1,110 effect projects and total investment reaching US$ 3.95 billion. He believed that with the activities and efforts to improve the investment environment that the City has implemented, the economic relations between Ho Chi Minh City and Japan will be strengthened and the number of Japanese investors expanding production and successfully operating in the City will increase.
In the discussion 50 questions related to 4 groups of issues including; 25 contents in the environment-life field, 12 contents in labor law field, 6 contents in Tax field and 7 contents in Customs field, were recorded and answered.
