At 4:00 a.m. on December 1, on National Highway 8A in Ha Trai village, Son Kim 1 commune, Huong Son district, Ha Tinh province, enforcement units of the Department for Drug Control and Crime Prevention, Cau Treo International Border Guard Station, Son Hong Border Guard Station (Ha Tinh Border Guard) coordinated with the Northern Drug Control and Crime Prevention task force (Drug Control and Crime Prevention Department), PC04 Department (Ha Tinh Provincial Police) and Anti-Drug Enforcement Team (Ha Tinh Customs Department) to arrest Nguyen Van Trung, 55, hometown Dat Do village, Thuong Nga commune, Can Loc district, Ha Tinh, for illegally transporting drugs.
At the inspection time, Trung rode a motorbike with license plate 38C1 - 26517 to transport two sacks with 52 packages of synthetic drugs and ketamine, weighing 52 kg and many related evidence.
Expanding the investigation, at 2:30 p.m. the same day, the enforcement authorities urgently arrested Nguyen Tuan Anh, born in 1977, residing at 19B Thieu Tri, Quarter 4, Bac Son Ward, Bim Son Town, Thanh Hoa Province.
At the investigation agency’s office, Trung said that the exhibits were drugs, he was hired by Nguyen Tuan Anh to transport the drugs for a fee of VND200 million.
Currently, the enforcement authorities continue to investigate and handle the suspects.
