On June 26, the leader of the Customs Enforcement Team said that in early June the Team detected a drug trafficking ring led by Chao Chan Khen, transporting drugs from Dien Bien, Ha Giang, Cao Bang to China in large quantities.

On June 24, the working team arrested Chao Chan Khen, 34 and Nguyen Van Tho, 35 in Khuoi Vin hamlet, Ly Bon commune, Bao Lam district, Cao Bang province for illegal transportation of drugs, and seized 10 packages of heroin.

On June 26, in the meeting to respond to the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking on 23 June, the representative of the People's Committee of Cao Bang province awarded prizes to the leaders of three units participating in the case.
