Customs and Police authorities sign Coordination regulation on training and retraining for customs enforcement force

Attending the ceremony were Deputy Director General of Vietnam Customs Hoang Viet Cuong, Deputy Director of the People's Police Academy Chu Van Dung, and representatives of units of the two authorities.
At the signing ceremony, the leaders of the two parties signed Coordination regulation on training and retraining for customs enforcement force.
The Coordination regulation states that, the two authorities agreed to build cooperation partnership and assist each other in training and retraining officers in science research and improving qualification for officers and lectures.
On the other hand, the cooperation partnership is based on the provisions of law with the spirit of voluntariness and equality, creating conditions for mutual development and fulfilling their assigned tasks.
The Director of the People's Police Academy and the Director General of Vietnam Customs are responsible for directing relevant units to effectively implement cooperation contents in the Coordination regulation.
The Coordination regulation also provides contents of coordination such as organizing training courses for customs officers; regularly exchanging and providing information on the coordination process; organizing training courses on crime investigation for customs enforcement force as well as training and using weapons and support tools.
The General Department of Vietnam Customs also cooperates in providing information in the fight against smuggling and illegal cross-border transportation of goods and currency for the People's Police Academy to update and supplement teaching materials and contents to meet the requirements of practical work.
At the same time, the two parties coordinated to hold scientific seminars and workshops to improve the capacity of officers in preventing and combating crime; state management in customs area.
At the ceremony, leaders of the two authorities recognized achievements in the cooperation in training and retraining Customs officers, which has been effectively implemented between the People's Police Academy and the General Department of Vietnam Customs through organizing training courses for customs control forces.
It is known that since 2012, the People's Police Academy has cooperated with the General Department of Vietnam Customs to organize 10 training courses for more than 1,100 leaders and officers of the Anti-Smuggling and Investigation Department and local customs departments.
In 2023, leaders of the Ministry of Public Security have agreed to assign the People's Police Academy to coordinate with the General Department of Vietnam Customs (the focal point as the Vietnam Customs School) to organize 3 training courses for leaders and officers of customs enforcement force, which is expected to open in the near future.
The leaders believed that after the signing ceremony of the Coordination regulation, it would create conditions to effectively and comprehensively foster cooperation activities in the near future.
