Speaking to a reporter of the Customs Newspaper, Mr. Be Van Tien, the Head of Anti-smuggling and Control Team under the Chi Ma Customs Brach said that on the night of 2nd March 2017, while on duty, the task force was reported that some people were using motorcycles to transport illegal imported raw materials from China into Vietnam (from Na Quan-Na Phat village to Loc Binh town). Immediately, the task force approached to arrest perpetrators. However, when these perpetrators were detected by the functional forces, they ran away.
Although the task force chased and pursued these perpetrators, they could not arrest any one due to darkness, hills and mountains, Mr. Be Van Tien emphasized.
At the scene, the task force seized 5 sacks, including dried and raw materials used as Chinese medicinal herbs with a weight of 140 kg.
According to Mr. Be Van Tien, one day before (28th February 2017), in the area of Na Quan village, the task force also seized two sacks containing particles with a weight of 80kg.
