Also, in the classification, the General Department of Customs issued notification about goods classification for 255 of 211 new receiving templates; notification about predefined codes for export and import goods for 16 requests and updated the analysis and classification database (MHS).
In the early months of 2016, the Customs Assessment Department reviewed and transferred to Import – Export Duty Department to appraise the average records of 200 records /month, including iron and steel samples which accounted for 25-30%. However, over time, as the MHS database is updated, classification data of the General Department of Customs is growing and relatively complete so it will reduce the volume of dossiers switched to the General Department of Customs to issue the notification of classification. Recently, in particular, the average dossiers are only about 100 records/month.
Furthermore, according to the General Department of Customs, the Customs Assessment in Middle Branch (Da Nang City) and Customs Assessment in South Branch (HCMC) are operated under the Vilas standards. At the same time, the General Department of Customs is finalizing and editing the draft of development of the Customs Assessment Department in the period 2015-2020, and vision to 2025.
