Many quality FDI investment projects

Statistics from the Binh Duong Department of Planning and Investment show that in the first 5 months of 2024, newly registered and supplemented FDI capital in Binh Duong reached over US$ 341 million. In particular, the majority of FDI capital is concentrated in the system of industrial parks, over US$ 290 million.

To date, Binh Duong has attracted nearly 4,300 FDI projects with a total investment capital of over US$ 40.6 billion from 65 countries and territories, ranking among the top 3 provinces and cities attracting the most FDI in the country. Not only has the number increased rapidly, but the quality of FDI projects has also been significantly improved. Binh Duong has attracted many large corporations with modern technology from Japan, the United States and European countries such as: Tokyu, Aeon, Mitsubishi (Japan), Procter & Gamble (USA), Lego (Denmark), Kumho (Korea) ...

A positive signal continued to be recorded when recently (May 16), the world's largest jewelry company Pandora (Denmark) held the groundbreaking ceremony for the Pandora Production Vietnam Factory at VSIP Industrial Park 3 (Binh Duong). With an investment capital of US$ 150 million (about VND 3,800 billion), and a modern production line, this factory is expected to operate in 2026 and have a production capacity of up to 60 million jewelry items per year. Pandora Production Vietnam is expected to become a leading enterprise in the jewelry manufacturing industry in Vietnam.

Previously, the Lego Group also chose Vietnam as the location to build the world's largest toy factory. Notably, this is the group's first carbon-neutral factory, developed in a green and sustainable direction. The Lego factory is expected to go into operation in late 2024.

As a company with 100% Danish capital, specializing in the production of leather shoes and handbags for export, and has been associated with Binh Duong for over 8 years, Mr. Alexander Christopher Falter, General Director of Ecco Vietnam Co., Ltd., said that the company is planning to expand its production workshop to meet the needs of the company's market development worldwide.

Support businesses to operate effectively

In order to achieve the above results, in recent years, Binh Duong has issued many important policies to attract FDI. Binh Duong is also constantly striving to improve the investment environment and complete and upgrade infrastructure to better serve the needs of attracting investment.

Sharing with reporters of Customs Magazine, many FDI enterprises that are implementing investment projects in Binh Duong all said that in the past time, they have received great companionship and support from Binh Duong province in general and Binh Duong Customs Department in particular in stabilizing production and long-term business.

Mr. Nagato Takahiko, Chairman of the Japanese Business Association in Binh Duong, shared: accompanying Japanese businesses in the past time, I and Japanese businesses in Binh Duong highly appreciate the timely support of Binh Duong Customs Department. For businesses with production and export activities, customs procedures are an important issue. Therefore, the timely settlement of difficulties and obstacles and the enthusiastic support of Binh Duong Customs Department have created favorable conditions for Japanese businesses to invest in Binh Duong.

"From after the Covid-19 pandemic to the present, the production situation of some Japanese businesses investing in Binh Duong is still facing difficulties. However, the Japanese government and Japanese businesses highly appreciate the economic growth rate of Binh Duong province. We believe in the province's investment attraction and development policy and continue to invest here", Mr. Nagato Takahiko emphasized.

In addition to continuing to create favorable conditions for businesses in import-export activities, Binh Duong Customs Department has also proposed many solutions to support new investors and newly established businesses in import-export activities and customs procedures, especially for large investors, who have a tendency to develop advanced technology and green development.

According to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Thien, Director of My Phuoc Industrial Park Customs Branch (Binh Duong Customs Department), from the beginning of the year to May 31, 2024, the Business Contact Teams (Bau Bang Team and My Phuoc Team) successfully contacted and supported dozens of new businesses investing in the area in customs declaration procedures. In the meetings with businesses, Customs officers explained, supported and guided customs procedures; created favorable conditions, and quickly handled import-export procedures. As a result, the Branch has carried out customs procedures for 70 enterprises with 3,196 declarations, with a total turnover of over 99 million US$ and a tax revenue of nearly VND 85 billion.
