Export rises 17.3%

In the first quarter, economic indicators saw growth; the industrial production index was estimated to rise by 7.18%; total retail sales of goods and services rose by 9.6% year-on-year; trade turnover reached US$16.1 billion, of which export turnover reached US$9.7 billion, up 17.3%, showing a trade surplus of more than US$3.2 billion.

Binh Duong's trade turnover accounted for more than 10% of the country's trade turnover.

Mr. Iron, Production Director of Dai Hoa Co., Ltd. said that given by a year-on-year growth target of 10%, the company has maintained quantity of orders from the beginning of the year. The company has recruited 2,000 more workers, and invested in modern equipment lines to increase production capacity to produce modern and quality products that meet the customers’ demand.

The main export items of Binh Duong included textiles, footwear, wood, other machinery, equipment, tools and spare parts, electronic products and components.

Binh Duong's goods were exported to more than 120 countries around the world, of which the US, EU, Japan, and South Korea markets held a high market share. This shows that businesses in Binh Duong have been returning to normal operation.

According to Binh Duong Customs Department, in early 2022, the consumption of the goods recorded an increase; businesses expanded the import of goods for production and business to serve the Lunar New Year. In February, the total turnover grew by 5.85%, the taxable turnover rose by 2.36%, which increased revenue by nearly VND670 billion year-on-year.

In addition, Binh Duong Customs implemented coordination with businesses and trade facilitation, so it attracted businesses to carry out procedures in Binh Duong, contributing to improving the revenue in the first month of 2022. As of March 23, Binh Duong Customs Department’s revenue rose nearly 20% year-on-year to VND4,969 billion, reaching nearly 28% of the assigned target in 2022.

Flexible solutions to support businesses

In 2022, to remove difficulties and help enterprises restore production and business activities, Binh Duong Customs Department has conducted 11 tasks and solutions.

Accordingly, the department has focused on main tasks and solutions to improve the business environment, enhance national competitiveness, remove difficulties for production and business, ensure social security to cope with the pandemic; further promoted administrative procedure reform, researched and proposed administrative reform initiatives, especially procedures related to import and export activities, in order to shorten time and costs.

In order to facilitate enterprises in carrying out electronic customs procedures, Binh Duong Customs Department has established a team headed by a deputy director and participated by leaders and officers in advisory units to support businesses in using free customs declaration software. The team is in charge of receiving questions from businesses and answering those questions; and report to the General Department of Customs on comments and suggestions to upgrade functions to perfect the software.

In addition, in 2022, Binh Duong Customs Department will continue to carry out the Customs – Businesses Partnership Development Plan with five main groups of tasks including information on import and export situation, product policies, new regulations; consulting activities for businesses and related parties; continuing to create conditions for businesses to participate in the supervision of law enforcement by Customs; opening a direct communication channel to business leaders and employees in charge of export and import procedures via email, phone, text message and social networks.

Moreover, Binh Duong Customs Department will continue to offer solutions to improve business environment factors related to the field of cross-border trade; promote specialized management and inspection reform for import and export goods; reform the implementation of the single-window mechanism and connect the single-window mechanism to improve service quality and enhance IT application, save time, costs and facilitate import and export activities.
