Bac Ninh Customs Department and Customs Department of Goods Verification collaborates to reduce time of goods verification

The Bac Ninh Customs Department and the Customs Department of Goods Verification have recently signed a cooperation agreement to standardize and improve the efficiency of analysis for the classification and inspection of imported and exported goods.
Under the agreement, both sides have agreed to exchange information in a full, accurate, and timely manner, aiming to shorten the analysis, classification, inspection, and customs clearance time as prescribed. Both sides will continue to support and facilitate the prompt resolution of work in accordance with the law. Any difficulties arising during the cooperation process must be discussed and resolved in accordance with the law, ensuring the professional requirements of each party.
The two units will jointly deploy on-site mobile inspection stations (MobiLab); and jointly take samples for analysis, classification, and inspection upon receiving instructions from the General Department of Vietnam Customs' ID or documents from requesting units.
They will cooperate in providing information and controlling high-risk export and import goods according to key topics to improve the efficiency of analysis, classification, and inspection; and cooperate in providing information on the quality inspection and food safety of imported goods as prescribed by the Customs Department of Goods Verification.
The Bac Ninh Customs Department manages the area including Bắc Ninh, Bắc Giang, and Thái Nguyên, with about 7,700 import-export enterprises, including about 1,200 FDI enterprises.
According to the Bac Ninh Customs Department, due to the diversity of imported and exported goods in the area, the inspection, analysis, and classification of imported and exported goods play an important role in supporting customs units and customs officers in performing their professional duties.
In the first six months of 2024 alone, a total of 94 samples of goods were sent by customs branches under the Bac Ninh Customs Department to the Customs Department of Goods Verification for analysis, classification, and inspection.
