Attracting and retaining enterprises

The leader of Bac Giang Industrial Zone Management Customs Branch said that in order to retain and attract enterprises, the branch has actively coordinated with the department’s working teams to work with major enterprises and grasp their production and business plans, thereby serving as a basis for building budget revenue plans as well as promptly encourage and remove problems for businesses.

The branch has facilitated trade and maintained circulation and boosted import and export goods, and facilitated enterprises to restore and expand business production. At the same time, the branch has promoted simplicity and automation of customs procedures and trade facilitation (implementation of National Single Window, ASEAN Single Window, and application of information technology and online public services). gland); and implemented specialized inspection for exported and imported goods.

To encourage and remove difficulties for businesses in import-export activities, in September 2023, the branch successfully organized a dialogue conference and directly answered questions for 40 local businesses. The branch has actively approached and attracted businesses that have tax codes in Bac Giang province but have implemented procedures in other provinces, to carry out procedures at the branch.

According to the statistics of the branch, currently, 820 out of 1,232 enterprises have regularly carried out customs procedures at the branch, including 119 export processing enterprises, 190 processing enterprises, 52 export manufacturing enterprises; 37 export processing and manufacturing, FDI enterprises… Notably, the branch has attracted 352 new enterprises.

BEDRA Vietnam Co., Ltd. is an FDI company that regularly carries out procedures at the branch. Deputy Director General of BEDRA Vietnam Co., Ltd. Chen Jin Mao recognized and highly appreciated the support of the branch’s officers, and hoped to receive more support from the Customs authorities to improve the law compliance level, thereby, increasing the rate of Green channel declarations, reducing customs clearance time for goods, meeting the needs of quick and timely delivery of goods, and improving the reputation and competitiveness of the company.

​Providing solutions to increase the revenue

In 2024, Bac Giang Industrial Zone Management Customs Branch will provide key and effective solutions to improve the revenue.

The branch will grasp the status and development in the management area related to customs control such as the progress of planning and construction of industrial parks and industrial clusters; investment, investment progress of businesses... thereby becoming more proactive in performance.

The branch will develop scientific and effective revenue collection plans with accurate analysis and assessment, specific roadmap, and provide solutions to serve as a basis for revenue collection. The branch will regularly meet and contact businesses to publicize legal policies on tax, and focuses on promptly removing obstacles, facilitating import and export activities, accompanying and sharing difficulties with businesses to attract businesses and raise revenue.

In addition, the branch will focus on implementing professional measures, including strictly controlling the application of prices, codes, origin and classification of goods to collect sufficient revenue and avoid revenue loss. Along with that, the branch will perform well post-customs audit, price ruling, fight against smuggling and trade fraud to increase the revenue. Promote the collection of outstanding debts and prevent bad debt. Review exemption, reduction and refund records as well tax arrears after analysis and classification to ensure this work in accordance with regulations.

As of December 20, the import and export turnover at the branch reached US$ 41.69.

The branch’ revenue decreased by 11% year-on-year to VND 1, 631.7 billion, meeting 85.9% of the target. As of December 31, the branch’s revenue is estimated at VND1,707 billion.
