According to General Department of Vietnam Customs, in 2017, Hai Duong Customs Branch (Hai Phong Customs Department) is assigned to collect VND 2,100 billion to State budget. As of 15/12, total revenue of the Customs Branch reached VND 3,078.4 billion and it is estimated it will achieve VND 3,150 billion, an increase of VND 796 billion compared to 2016.
The General Department of Vietnam Customs appraised that, some items contributed significantly to Hai Duong Customs's revenue which has stabilized turnover in recent years. In that, Ford Automobiles Vietnam Co., Ltd contributed VND 1.909 trillion; imported steel products by a local enterprise contributed more than VND 156 billion and another enterprise producing automobile components contributed more than VND 71 billion.
In addition, according to the General Department of Vietnam Customs, despite the large number of daily declarations at Hai Duong Customs Branch (about 800 to 1,000 declarations per day), most of them are declarations without tax, and processing import & export business. Hence, the amount of tax revenue is not much compared to the amount of customs declarations.
