Arrest for transportation of 13,465 liters of diesel oil

At 10:55PM on 16 June, during a Customs patrol on Ba Ria – Vũng Tàu beach area, on Dinh river near Ha Loc port, ward 11, Vung Tau city, Customs officers of Squadron 3 found a wooden vessel, registration number: BV-78 233-TS, the journey from the sea to Dinh river flow showed suspicious signs. After inspection, Customs officers discovered a cargo bunker onboard contain oil.
On inspection, Mr Vo Minh Thanh, captain of the ship BV-78 233 could not show any documents related to onboard goods. Mr. Vo Minh Thanh was paid to transport the cargo for Ms Nguyen Huu Tai (Thanh’s morther), with a value of 3,5 million VND.
Based on the examination result and assessment certificate for quality number 16G10ND00402-01 on 22-6-2016 of Vinacontrol at Phu My, the indicators matched quality standards of Diesel Fuel Oil type Euro 2 TCVN 5689:2013, Assessment certificate number 16G10ND00402-02 on 22-6-2016 at Phu My is 13.465 liters of diesel oil.
On the same day, the Customs force contacted Ms. Tai. Ms Tai said, the cargo was from a foreign ship at Vung Tau beach which sold about 15.000 liters of diesel oil at 4.000 VND/liter by Ms Hai who lived in Sao Mai – Ben Dinh (unknown address).
Ms. Tai has joint capital with 2 other people Nguyen Khiem and Huynh Dinh Thu in order to buy the oil above, at 20 million vnd per person. Ms. Tai gave 60 million vnd and Mr Hai’s phone number to her son. Then Mr Thanh drove the ship BV-78233 to take the oil and payment for Mr. Hai.
After that, the oil was to be shared equally and used for the family ship. The remainder of the oil was to be sold to people who want to buy. Currently, Squadron 3 has completed dossiers and transferred the matter to the Bureau of Anti- Smuggling and Investigation for further processing according to its competence.
