An Giang Customs supports imports and exports while raising revenue

Supporting customs procedures
According to An Giang Customs Department, in the first six months of 2022, over 350 enterprises carried out customs procedures at the border gate customs branches under the department, mostly by those outside the province. The local customs department provided solutions to support businesses in transportation and customs clearance for imports and exports,
Director of An Giang Customs Department Tran Quoc Hoan said that over the past two years, the complicated developments of the Covid-19 pandemic have negatively impacted import and export activities of the whole country and An Giang province, causing challenges and difficulties for businesses.
With the motto of “always accompanying businesses, considering the development and prosperity of businesses as the development of the province and An Giang Customs Department", the leader of the department requested all customs officers to well implement the customs reform and modernization, and facilitate businesses in customs processes, and quickly clearly goods.
The department has instructed and supported businesses for problems arising in customs processes in a timely fashion. It has answered problems related to export procedures for exporting fertilizers to Cambodia, export tax rates for bricks and tiles.
The department has also guided local customs branches problems related to tax refund dossiers; goods quantity declared on C/O form E; verification result of C/O form E; tax payment and fines for administrative violations; labeling of imported agricultural products (rice, mango).
At a recent dialogue conference wirh An Giang Customs Department, businesses said that the border gate customs units have promptly removed difficulties and supported them in customs clearance, creating smooth import and export activieties.
Effectively collect revenue
An Giang Customs Department has accomplished tasks, including revenue collection.
As of May 15, the department performed customs procedures with a total turnover of US$846.955 million. The turnover in the first six months of the year increased by 32% to US$1,016 million. The quantity of goods in transit reached 127.608 thousand tons. The quantity in the first half of the year decreased by 10% year-on-year to 153.13 thousand tons.
The export products mainly are fishery products, fertilizers, rice, instant noodles, iron and steel, general goods, clothing, cement, and electricity, etc.
The imports mainly are sugar, rice, sand, fresh mangoes, iron and steel, scrap paper, raw materials for processing sewing, and fruits.
14,887 turns of transport were implemented customs procedures across the An Giang border gates. It is estimated that in the first six months of 2022, this figure rose 108% compared with the year ago to 17,864 turns.
According to the department’s leader, Vietnam has been under controlled and restored import and export activities at the border gates, facilitating the customs clearance. The budget revenue in the first half of the year mainly comes from items such as scraps, pesticides, sugar, and wood.
As of May 18, 2022, the Department’s revenue saw a year-on-year increase of 47% to over VND205 billion, meeting 89% of the target and 85% of the desire target.
In addition, the department always focuses on the anti-revenue loss. The border gate customs branches have checked the declared taxable value on 5,231 import declarations. In which, 5,133 declarations are accepted declared value, 98 declarations are transferred for rulings.
